Synopsis
On November 11 1975, Rhodesia marks the tenth anniversary of its unilateral declaration of independence from Britain. In the past year, pressure for a settlement between Mr. Smith’s Government and the African opposition, led by the African National Council, has increased as both South African Premier Mr. Vorster and the Presidents of Mozambique, Botswana, Zambia and Tanzania commit themselves to the resolution of the crisis. So far, however, talks have been unsuccessful and Mr. Smith seems determined to carry on while his African opponents have once again split into feuding factions.
